There are many regions where biblical resources are nearly non-existent. Yet, people are coming to Christ and long to grow in their faith. By gathering biblical resources into libraries, it's easier than ever to freely and securely deliver them to those in need.

Bible Content by Libraries

The Digital Bible Society is dedicated to gathering, preparing, and distributing Bible content for free in over a thousand languages. Collaborating with content creators worldwide, we secure permissions, curate resources, develop media, and equip Christian workers to ensure seamless distribution. Additionally, we keep donors and content partners informed about the progress and impact of our efforts.

We create several types of libraries:

  • Bible Libraries – Contain a variety of Bible content (text, audio, and video Bibles)
  • Treasures Libraries – Bibles with collections of other Christian resources
  • Custom Libraries – One of our existing libraries enhanced with your content (available by special request only)

About the Bible Art Gallery

The Bible Art Gallery has been assembled over the course of more than two decades, drawing from a wide variety of sources from around the world. It was created to assist pastors, teachers, missionaries, and disciple-makers by offering visual tools that support the communication of Scripture. Whether you're preparing a sermon, leading a small group, creating a study guide, or integrating visuals into Bible software, these images are intended to help you present God's Word more clearly and meaningfully.

The collection is more than just a gathering of beautiful images — it reflects how the Bible has influenced artists, theologians, and leaders across centuries and cultures. It includes a wide variety of styles and interpretations, each offering a glimpse into how biblical stories have been visualized in different times and places. While care has been taken to provide appropriate Biblical context, inclusion in the library does not imply theological endorsement or doctrinal accuracy.

Visitors can explore the library through several interactive tools. The main Art Gallery page allows users to filter images by Bible book, image type, or keyword. Search and categorization tools help surface images by subject, title, or contributing artist. A built-in slideshow viewer supports fullscreen browsing with artist names, scripture references, and download options. Users can also adjust slideshow speed, view image thumbnails, and copy direct links for sharing.

The Artist Directory page lets users browse works grouped by artist — including classical painters and lesser-known contributors to the visual history of the Bible. Filtering by artist name provides quick access to individual collections of work.

The Bible Map Gallery is a companion collection featuring both historical and contemporary biblical maps. These are searchable by book or keyword, and grouped by series for ease of navigation. Each map opens in a modal view with metadata and download options, offering valuable support for exploring the geographic and historical context of Scripture.

Most of the artwork in this library is in the public domain. However, many images have been remastered, colorized, and enhanced, and others have been newly organized or re-tagged for clarity. This work represents thousands of hours contributed by volunteers, who have helped to name, sort, and improve the collection. While the library continues to grow, we welcome those who wish to contribute to its accuracy and quality — whether through translation, metadata refinement, or by helping gather additional historical materials. Please contact us if you desire to get involved with this project.

This resource is offered freely for the benefit of the broader Christian community. Out of respect for the people and infrastructure supporting it, we ask that it not be misused. Please avoid automated or excessive downloads that may overload the servers. While the images may be downloaded for teaching, study, and non-commercial use, they may not be sold or republished for profit. To ensure this, the library, database, and associated metadata are released under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC license (Attribution–NonCommercial).

We hope this collection will serve and support your efforts to make Scripture known — wherever you are and however you serve.
